2. Data Protection

If you enter the quiz or complete the survey on this website your personal information will be held and used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Your personal information will be collated and handled by the British Horseracing Authority as a data processor pursuant to the Data Protection Act 1998 and the British Horseracing Authority will not disclose such information to any unauthorised person or body and, where appropriate, will use such information for the purposes of administering the quiz and sending you updates regarding the website.

What this means in simple terms:

  • On entering the quiz, completing the survey or using the contact form on this website you are required to enter your name and email address.
  • This information will never be passed on to anyone else (other than the British Horseracing Authority) and will be held by the British Horseracing Authority on our behalf.
  • The British Horseracing Authority will only use your name and email address to respond to your enquiry or send you updates regarding this website.

3. Quiz and Survey Terms and Conditions

I. All winning entries to the quiz will be entered into a draw on a monthly basis; the prize is a copy of the book “Fuelling Winners”.
II. All responses to the survey will be entered into a draw on a monthly basis; the prize is a DVD of the film “Seabiscuit”.
III. You do not need to buy anything to enter.
IV. Registration completion is based on the following information being provided: name and e-mail address.
V. The quiz and the survey are provided by the British Horseracing Authority Limited of 75 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6LS (the "BHA") who will administer the quiz and survey and the allocation of prizes. Both draws will take place at the BHA’s office, witnessed by two members of staff.
VI. Both draws will take place between the 1st and 7th of each month and will include all entries from the previous calendar month.
VII. The winner will be drawn at random from all valid entries received and will be notified by email within 72 hours of the actual draw date.
VIII. No alternative prize is available and the prize is not transferable.
IX. The winner may be asked (but not obliged) to participate in non paid publicity accompanying or resulting from this draw. Your consent will be obtained before you are identified in any associated publicity.
X. One entry into each of the quiz and the survey per person in any one month.
XI. The British Horseracing Authority has the right to withdraw, suspend or amend the quiz and/or the survey as necessary.
XII. Prizes are subject to availability. Save to the extent prohibited by law, neither the National Association of Stable Staff nor the BHA shall be responsible for, or bear any liability for, any loss or damage suffered through the unavailability of prizes or otherwise through participation in the quiz or survey.
